PSHE & RSE

‘I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go. I will counsel you with my loving eye on you” – Psalm 32:8

PSHE

PSHE provides pupils with opportunities to grow and develop as global Catholic citizens, rooted in their faith, fully equipped for life in modern Britain.

Our aim is to develop the key skills of empathy, respect, tolerance and responsibility in a safe environment where children are allowed to discuss and debate. We strive for excellence in PSHE and careers guidance, providing equal opportunities for everyone in our school.
Our RSHE and PSHE curriculum supports the holistic development of every young person, helping them to grow in knowledge, confidence, faith and character. Rooted in Catholic teaching and Gospel values, our programme encourages pupils to recognise their God-given dignity, develop healthy relationships, make informed choices and become responsible members of society.
The PSHE/RSHE curriculum aims to build global Catholic citizens by providing students with opportunities to grow and develop as individuals so that they are fully equipped for life in modern Britain. Allowing students the opportunity to discuss and debate in a safe and secure environment will help to equip them with the key skills of empathy, respect, tolerance and responsibility.
The curriculum is planned to ensure students have access to a broad and balanced range of topics whilst dealing with current issues and preparing them for the next stages in their development.
Using high-quality resources from Unifrog, we deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons that explore a wide range of topics, including mental and physical wellbeing, relationships, online safety, careers, financial education and life in modern Britain. All content is carefully adapted to ensure it reflects and promotes the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
Through RSHE and PSHE, we aim to equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills and virtues they need to flourish academically, spiritually and personally, enabling them to live out our school mission both now and in the future.

Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE)

At St Anne’s, Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) is an integral part of our commitment to educating the whole person. Through our dedicated PSHE curriculum, we provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to build healthy relationships, make informed choices and flourish as confident, respectful young people.

Our RSHE programme is delivered in line with statutory government guidance and is rooted in the teachings and values of the Catholic Church. We aim to help students understand the dignity of every human person, the importance of family life, and the value of forming positive, loving and respectful relationships.

Through carefully planned, age-appropriate lessons, students explore topics including mental and physical wellbeing, healthy relationships, online safety, consent, relationships and personal responsibility. Opportunities are also provided for reflection, discussion and spiritual development, enabling students to consider contemporary issues through both a moral and faith-informed lens.

By combining high-quality PSHE education with Catholic teaching, we strive to empower our students to make positive choices, contribute to society with compassion and integrity, and live out the Gospel values in their daily lives.
